Devotees, who came from different parts of the country, took a `holy dip' in the `Srivari pushkarini' (temple tank) in connection with the `Chakrasnanam' observed on the concluding day (ninth day) of the `Brahmotsavam' on Tuesday. Religious fervour marked the occasion. Lord Chakratalwar was taken around in procession early in the morning to Varahaswamy temple where priests conducted `Snapana thirumanjanam.'Thousands of pilgrims, who congregated on the holy steps of the `pushkarini,' waiting patiently for the auspicious moment when the temple priests immersed the idol of Lord Chakra in the sacred tank, plunged into the holy waters.
