In an unprecedented protest, tomato farmers from Madanapalle brought a truckload of tomatoes and dumped the produce in front of the Assembly gate (on the road adjacent to the barricades) to highlight the distress sale of tomatoes at Rs 2 kg. Even as the police seized one lorry, another lorry managed to give a slip and unloaded tonnes of tomatoes on the road. The farmers were giving vent to their protest over the wasting of time by ruling Congress and main opposition Telugu Desam and other opposition parties on non-issues (like irregularities by YSR and Chandrababu Naidu's families).
