The Praja Rajayam Party chief demanded that the AP government declare 'Bonalu' as a state festival."This festival is a symbol of religious unity. This is a popular festival and I feel the state government should recognise it as a state festival and declare a holiday on the day," he told reporters.The visit of the VIPs, however, caused inconvenience to the devotees as they had to wait for long to have a 'darshan' of the Goddess.
