Red Mosque Students: Over 600 Pakistani Taliban supporting students from the Red Mosque have so far surrendered to the rangers on 04
July 2007 in Islamabad. They register with the authorities and are then returned to their families. A day and
night long shootout left at least 12 dead and over 100 injured. The Lal Masjid is completely surrounded and a
curfew is imposed around its neighborhood. Hardliners are still resisting.
