Rangers ready to shoot: Pakistani soldiers stand alert as security forces launched Operation Silence with Islamist militants in the
besieged Red Mosque 10 July 2007. Pakistan s security forces claimed to have rescued some 80 hostages being held
by Islamic militants in the final assault at the Islamabad besieged mosque, as death toll in the fight rose to 58,
including eight soldiers.
