There lived a smart and beautiful girl called Syndrilla who lived in paris. Syndrilla was poor but not very poor. Though they were poor the family lived with respect and pride. Syndrilla's mother sent syndrilla to London to a rich merchant's house to look after accounts, assist in the office like a secretary, teach children, cook and also go to school. The rich merchant promises to pay for school and give food if she did all these jobs. Though she gets less for all the jobs she was doing she agrees to it.
Syndrilla was given a room which were to be shared with the sweepers of the house. That was a very filthy place. Didn’t know what to do syndrilla adjusts herself to the surroundings and starts her work.
The rich merchant had a daughter of the age of syndrilla who was ugly to look at. Ugly at behavior and thoughts too. She was jealous of syndrilla's beauty and intelligence. Wanted to harass syndrilla in all ways.
Rich merchant's daughter held a party. Syndrilla was a very good cook. Rich merchant's daughter called syndrilla and said the pizzas were not well cooked, pork not well boiled, food not at all tasty and gave good scoldings to syndrilla before all her friends in the party. Syndrilla felt insulted. But still bore all that. Cooked again though she was getting late for school.
Next day rich merchants daughter called syndrilla and said that she was spoiling kitchen by her cooking and made her clean the kitchen. Though not part of her job Syndrilla cleans the kitchen. The lady makes syndrilla do all odd jobs including cleaning of the rest room and does not allow her to go to school.
Now she tears all letters that are coming from her parents before syndrilla. And asks the servant there not to give any letter to syndrilla and tear all the letters. When syndrilla was trying to write all her problems to her parents, the rich merchants daughter tears the letter from syndrilla's hand and hurts her with abusing language.
Now syndrilla is not going to school.She is getting all cuttings in her salary too. She is doing all house hold works day and night like a slave. She has no sufficient money to go back to paris. She is Getting all scoldings. She is getting harassed.She is getting all spoilt food to eat that too she is given food like to a begger. She has torn clothes and torn blankets.She is restricted to go out. Talk to neighbours and make friends. Syndrilla has no friends or relatives in London.
Being Home sick Syndrilla falls sick.One day the rich merchants daughter comes home with friends and asks syndrilla to serve food and drink. Syndrilla tries to serve drink but loses grip on the tray and spills the drink. The rich merchant daughter starts abusing syndrilla,makes her clean before every body. Syndrilla does that. Still rich merchants daughter continues to abuse her and takes a cane to beat her.
Now Syndrilla can no more bear this. Syndrilla takes hold of the cane. And replies back Saying In this BIG city I will be able to find job some where but even if you search all over the world you won’t be able to find a maid like me. Rich merchants daughter threatens to ruin syndrilla .
In the Mid night 12 o clock Syndrilla walks out of the house like she got liberated,like a saint,like enlightened. Goes to a police station lodges a harrasment and bonded labor case on the rich merchant and her daughter.
Syndrilla joins a Bed Breakfast hostel, joins an evening school to work,goes to school in the morning, works for a near by office as a secretary. Communicates her parents, tells them everything and assures them that she is going to return back after she earns enough money in London to come back. Syndrilla makes some friends in the hostel.
Now it is holidays season. Syndrilla looks for Full time jobs in the near by office as a secretary, shops and earns little money to return back home. After earning little more money in London, she buys a computer and returns back to Paris with the help of a friend that she made in the hostel.
She opens her own office with the money she earned in London. She did accounts on the computer, gave the service during evenings and continued her studies. SYNDRILLA NEVER WENT TO LONDON AGAIN.
