Articles: My Experience | Be born to live as a true Indian - Mrs. sharmila Sanka

This is a precious opportunity to every Indian to be able to celebrate the Day of Indian Independence. True patriotism is nothing but a deep breath of love for the country that sojourns down the heart panting with tears of joy; that which fills the heart with pride and humility at the same time. No matter where your materialistic body lands and resides; no matter how far you are from your own country; no matter if you are an NRI, be close enough to patriotism. The feeling of oneness is all that matters to be a patriot. When your heart sees the Indian flag rising high above your aspirations carrying the fragrance of India and spreading the flavor of love; when your hair stands on its end when you sing the National Anthem, it is then you are ought to be called an Indian.
Every year of August 15th, we celebrate Independence Day. But do we ever try to remember the ways and means by which we got this glory; the sacrifice of responsible and great people involved? We are leading an independent life in the present world but do we really live up to this? But do we try to understand the true meaning of ‘Freedom’? True freedom is attained only when we are free from ego, envy, malice, jealousy, lust and enmity. How sure are we that we will not lose this freedom? Why has India been a spiritual crown for the whole world? It is only because of its love, justice, selflessness and feeling of oneness not found in other parts of the world.
A mother who has seen her child as an innocent bud becomes devastated when she sees her degenerated child as years pass by. She tends to happily leave this earth plane than to see her child in such a situation. But have we ever seen the invisible tears of Mother India? She has been the mother for the whole of India since Eras. She has seen the ethical degeneration of several generations of humanity. But unfortunately she has eyes to witness the evil but no words to speak out. She is helpless amidst such ignorant humanity. She has seen with what dignity India reached the rafters of the sky. She took pleasure and pride in their humility at the same time. She bowed her head while she watched her children of might, love and sacrifice walk on her spreading the fragrance of peace all around her.
It was Mother India who raised her head high above to grasp the true meaning of Politics in the past. She knew Politics didn’t mean Politics in those ages but it meant Service to humanity with the feeling of Oneness. Have you ever heard her say- ‘Alas! I can no more bear this weight of selfishness of Politicians. Are they chosen to bring differences among the humanity? Are they chosen by their people to bring disaster to the same who trusted them to bring down their calamities?’
Imagine if the aspiration-withered Mother India pleads to God-
‘Dear God, I once begged you to bless me to let me weigh the goodness and love of the same humanity ages before. They have now changed to an extent that they are capable of satisfying their hunger, sleep, enmity, love and even Divinity with mere money. I am lonely now and my limbs of my body ache with the weight of their enmity and greed. I am now willing to reach my home which is you. Take back and let the whole of humanity tread on the path of treasures and riches. Let their greed from the base for their very lives of comforts and selfish motives. This was the earth upon which great beings like Gandhi, Teresa, Tilak and many more children were born and put an end to their lives for the sake of these people to let them live an independent life, a life of freedom. If ever they are to be reborn, it is then I shall happily form myself in to a soft bed for them to quench their selfless desire of global peace on earth; it is then I shall live humbly with out a tremble move. It is then shall I let the ocean sit on my laps with out fear and grumble. I now declare to the whole of humanity that I wish to bathe in their goodness and peace and not in their greed of violence and blood.’
Being born on this earth plane as children of Mother India, isn’t it the inbound responsibility of each and every one of us to cater to the selfless needs of our mother? Are our births only to feel ashamed of? Let the days of caste, race and religion bid good- bye. The days have to come where in there is only one Caste of Humanity, only one Religion of Love and one Race of Life. Let us not discriminate the beings on the basis of selfish attitudes like caste and creed. We revere our Mother India as the mother of whole of Indian humanity. Which caste Mother India belongs to? Which religion she recommends? Which God she claims to worship? Brothers and sisters, isn’t it time for us to bathe our lives in goodness so that every limb of our bodies drenches in love? We shall then offer the same to our mother who is withered with our worries and greed, heavy with our selfishness and enmity and weightless without our love and goodness. It is then our Global Mother shall smile the glory of our great India once again and if at all the world is to end, it shall end with our mighty and innocent Love.
