Articles: Poetry | The Turmoil - Ms. Hakila Sikhamani Pasham
| |
Burning the midnight oil
Brooding over this turmoil,
I gaze into the night
Waiting for an answer bright.
With a helpless sigh
Thinking of the time that passed by,
More I feel dejected
Cause the very purpose is defeated.
In that lonely hour
I gather all the power,
Not to stand alone and think
Of anything that makes my heart sink.
Here is a thought,
That my heart has brought.
Bygones are bygones
Let them go,
Smile into the future
That will make you glow.
Do not take a chance
And go into a trance,
None can look deep
All they want is to sleep.
People come, people go
But you should never be
A mattress at the door
Take the life at your pace
You are not in any rat race,
Everything is false, everything is in vain
There is nothing but only pain.
Throw the sorrows behind
You are a star that is yet to shine,
Pull up your strings
And accept the gift that life brings.
God is true, God is just
And in Him, will I always trust.
