There are many branches of Science, each explainig a domain of the Universe. Among these sciences none is exempt from the problems of the unknown. For example physical sciences have their own areas of darkness. So, are the biological sciences. But that doesn’t stop them from floating ideas explaining the unknown. As these ideas mature, and a new paradigm is established a new phase in the era of that science begins.
In the above context only, we could see the science of Psychology. It has many areas where still explanation is required. And a new paradigm has to be born. Psychology being the conceptual science of the mind-here in this the struggle between the super natural explanations and the scientific view of the world continues- one such area where explanation falls short- is the area of Extra Sensory Perception (ESP). spiritualists or idealists try to put this (ESP) under the domain of the super natural.
Sadly, the science of Psychology stumbles in taking the challenge, and explaining at least some of the phenomena as a part of the domain of Psychology. Most of the Psychologists leave ESP to the spiritulists and try to write off those phenomena as something that falls out of their periphery. But, this doesn't mean all the phenomena that are being projected by the spiritualists are matters that require scientific attention.
