I am gonna be software engineer in a while, may be in a year from now!!My holidays came in and as I was learning my computer courses as i do in myholidays always, thought if this is what I want to do all my life ???
I thought over and realised that I loved to deal with humans more than dealing with gadgets.It struck me that I could understand the unsaid language of the people than computers.In no time i came to the conclusion that I wanted to become a psycholagist and not a programmer.
I went on to tell my best friend about this and he said,'com'n dear thats a strange field and a tough one too.U'll be lost in it in no time.On contrary you are so good at computers,you'll complete your engineering in an year and get a great job.If you are so interested in tackling with people,do MBA and get into public relations.....you'll earn your bucks and you'll be satisfied too'. I told my parents and they went bizerk. Their plans of marrying me at 23 and me getting settled soon seemed a distant reality for them now!
I thought its better to do what I'm doing and my computer classes carried on.Then I joined classes to do well in GRE and TOEFL so that i could do my masters in computers. The worst thing happened?!! The teacher who taught us English was a professor in psychology in a reputed university here. My supressed dream began haunting me again.So I thought why not know more 'bout people in thesame profession and know more 'bout it and then think of it.
I started attending classes regurarly which was very rare with me. In no time I was smitten by the teacher as she always taught us many beautiful things about life and people. So I spoke to her and various others in the same
field and started reading books about the same. I was amazed to notice that I was really very good at it and I was becoming a book worm! My results of the tests came and they were exceptionally well.
My parents are happy that be doing my M.S in an year after I complete my engineering here!! And so are my friends and SO AM I??My dream never seems to stop haunting me......my heart says,'Dear go for your dream.When you want something dearly, the whole universe conspires in making it work for you'.I have to fight over so many things,give up my profession where tons of bucks await me and take up one where my heart is,my soul yearns to!!
What should I do??I want to know if following a dream is better or following the world is??I WANT TO KNOW FROM ALL OF YOU WHO READ THIS CAUSE IT'LL HELP ME UNDERSTAND AND KNOW BETTER.
