'We have taken Pothula Suresh into custody and he would be produced in a local court here probably tomorrow, said Anantapur Superintendent of Police Manish Kumar Sinha.
Suresh, who allegedly had close links with slain TDP legislator Paritala Ravindra, is wanted in 16 criminal cases in Anantapur district including 7-8 murder cases, the police officer said adding 'he allegedly masterminded the killing of S Chenna Reddy who was a Congress MLA from Dhamavaram town of the district. Suresh is an accused in 7-8 murder cases since 1994 and was absconding since 2004, Sinha said. Asked from where Suresh was arrested, the SP declined to give any detail on security grounds. 'Due to security issues, we cannot reveal the details from where Suresh was nabbed,' he said.
