Thieves break into bizman's home, flee with cash, gold Ongole, May 1 (INN): Seven unidentified persons have broke into the residence of a businessman and managed to flee with 53 soverign of gold and Rs 45 thousand in cash, at Ram Nagar, Ongole in Prakasam district.
According to Sub-Inspector Suryanarayana, seven unidentified persons broke into the residence of Rammohan Reddy (45), from the back door with the help of iron rods late on Saturday night.
When Mr Rammohan Reddy tried to face them, they threatened him and his wife Vijayalakshmi with a knife. The culprits also managed to deprive them of the gold and cash and escape.
The inmates informed the police who reached the spot and collected necessary clues. Police registered a case under Section 397 IPC and a manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding thieves.
