TS Land Act will meet GO 123's fate: YSRCP Hyderabad, Jan 7 (INN): The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Telangana unit on Saturday demanded the state government to ensure that the oustees of various irrigation projects taken up by the state government get enough compensation and rehabilitation.
YSRCP leader G Rambhupal Reddy in a statement said that the state government was trying to bypass the Central legislation for acquiring land. He demanded that the government should acquire lands on the basis of Land Acquisition Act 2013. He said that the High Court's strictures on the GO 123 should serve an eye-opener to the TRS government and it should not go ahead with its plans of enacting a separate legislation to acquire lands. If the TRS government goes ahead with the TS Land Act, it will meet the same fate like GO 123. He said that the High Court struck off the GO as it violated the rights of the land owners.
KCR government should ensure that the oustees are compensated and rehabilitated according to the provisions of the Land Act 2013, the YSRCP leader asserted.
