KKR lays stone for Medical College in Nizamabad
Nizamabad, Dec 28 (INN): Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday laid foundation stone for the construction of a Medical College at Kalilvadi Grounds in Nizamabad district. The Medical College will be built at a cost of Rs 164 crore and will have a 500 bed capacity teaching hospital and include a nursing college, hostels for medical and nursing students and residential facilities for the faculty. The College will take in a 100 students every year. The foundation stone for the college was earlier laid at Qila Jail area by former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy but the project never really took off with even the construction work never beginning.
Major irrigations Minister P Sudharshan Reddy, district in-charge Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, Health Minister DL Ravindra and other leaders were present at the foundation stone laying ceremony. Later, addressing the gathering at an open public meeting, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy said that government is trying its best to provide loans to all farmers at 3 per cent rate of interest. KKR pointed out that since the past six years, the farmers are been supplied free electricity due to which a huge burden is faced by government exchequer. He added that this year Rs 1,150 crore in loans were given to the people of Nizamabad district. He further said that the government has implemented the promise it made regarding the 'Pavala Vadi' scheme. KKR's speech was regularly interrupted with some women present there raising 'Jai Telangana' slogans at regular intervals.
