Congress stages walkout from council Hyderabad, Jan 16 (INN): Protesting against the state government's alleged negligent attitude towards issues of farmers, members of Congress staged a walk out in the Telangana State Legislative Council on Tuesday.
Congress members said that the statement of Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinvas about input subsidy to farmers was unsatisfactory.
Leader of Opposition Shabbir Ali said the state government failed to disburse the input subsidy even though it was released nearly six months ago. He said that the government had to pay an input subsidy of Rs 1080 crore of which Centre gave Rs 822 crore while rest was state's share. Even though the Centre released the subsidy amount the state government did not pay the same which shows state's concerns towards farmers' plight, he said.
