Review Meeting held on AP Pollution Control Board Hyderabad, May 14: Dr. G.N. Phani Kumar, IAS., (Retd.), Chairman, AP Pollution Control Board reviewed the overall activities of APPCB on 14th May 2015 at Sanathnagar, Hyderabad. During the review the Member Secretary explained the overall activities of the Board i.e., Consent for Operation and its validity period, Consent for Establishment, Category of Industries, Hazardous Waste Management, Bio-Medical Waste Management, e-Waste generation and its collection, Plastic Waste Management, Non-ferrous metal scrap, the laws implemented by the Board particularly more focusing on Municipal Solid Waste Management and scientific disposal systems by
utilizing the present technology.
The Chairman directed all the Senior Officials of the Board to create more awareness among the public for the ensuing Godavari Pushkaralu by conducting mass publicity campaign i.e., Song & Drama programmes, Folk Art Teams programmes, Erecting Hoardings in important public places, pasting of Posters & Stickers, distribution of Pamphlets, tying of Cloth banners, painting on APSRTC buses, display boards erecting with Autos, TV scrolling and FM Radio campaigns on Dos and Don'ts to be adopted by the public during the Godavari Pushkaralu.
The Chairman also suggested the officials to collect the information for the best practices implemented by the Kerala and Tamilnadu State Pollution Control Boards.
