State's share in IT export drops Hyderabad, Dec 30 (INN): Though there is an increase in IT export turnover the percentage as compared to national figure has come down during the year.
The turnover went up to 35, 023 crore from Rs 33, 482 crore the previous year but the percentage when compared to the national figures has come down from 14.4 to 13.9. This was because the national growth was more than that of the state.
Minister for IT and Communications, who released the data, said eight companies, including Deloitte Consulting India Private Limited have shown interest in the State.
However, IT continues to dominate the state share when compared to other sectors. The slide in IT was constant from its peak of 51.29 per cent in 2005-06. Previous year it was 45.77 per cent while it declined to 38.22 per cent.
The major units to set up shop in the state during the year include Polycom Technology, Foundation 9 Entertainment, TIBCO, Covi8den and DSM Shares. The state has IBM, DELL, Oracle, Google, Microsoft, UBS and other world majors.
