Boeing Dreamliner to arrive at Begumpet airport

Hyderabad, March 10 (INN): Stage is set for conduct of the third international exhibition and conference on Civil Aviation - India Aviation 2012 from March 14 to 18 at Begumpet Airport.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Airports Authority of India General Manager (coordination in-charge) IN Murthy said that the first three days of the five day show would be business days and the last two days would be open for general public. All the days, the show would be open from 10 am to 5 pm.

Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh will inaugurate the conference while Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will be the Chief Guest. Civil Aviation Secretary Dr Nasim Zaidi will also attend the conference.

Murthy said that the India Aviation 2012 has received tremendous response with participation from 18 countries and more than 8,000 business visitors have confirmed their participation.

More than 250 exhibitors will exhibit products and services on Civil Aviation industry. As many as 18 hospitality chalets have been taken by various companies from India and overseas to have meetings with their prospective customers in a typical Air Show atmosphere, he said.

Two auditoriums, with a cost of Rs 3.5 crore, have been built for the event at Begum Airport.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be showcased for the first time at India Aviation 2012. Event will also witness participation from UAC - SUKHOI and the aircraft display of their much anticipated Sukhoi Superjet 100 Aircraft.

Embraer is all set to show their first ever presence in India Aviation with their new business jets Phenom 300 and 100. Renowned Russian Aerospace organisation IRKUT will also be participating for the first time in India Aviation.

As many as 22 leading business and commercial aircraft manufacturers including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Embrear, Gulfstream, Hawker Beechcraft, Piaggio Aero, UAC - Sukhoi, IRKUT - Beriev and other will be part of the show.

Several helicopter manufacturers including Augusta Westland and BELL will also participate. However, crisis-hit Kingfisher Airlines will not participate in the event.

While the exhibition area has been increased from 10,000 sq mts in 2008 to over 20,000 sq mts this year, the organisers have decided against holding aero-show.

This is being done in view of the accident that occurred during last show which claimed the lives of two pilots. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the participation of 20,000 people in the last two days of the show. The cost of each ticket will be Rs 200.

According to DCP North Zone Ch Shrikanth, besides CISF, 450 personnel of the City Police would be deployed for security arrangements. The entire show will be monitored through 30 CC cameras at the venue. Four parking bays have been made at the Begumpet airport.
