TDP delegation meets Guv over Vanpic GOs Hyderabad, July 21 (INN): A delegation of Telugu Desam Party on Saturday appealed to Goververnor E S L Narasimhan to direct the state government to scrap the four GOs MS 30, 31, 1110, 1115 issued over 2008 and 2009 in connection with Vadarevu and Nizampatnam Port and Industrial Corridor (VANPIC) project.
While submitting a memorandum to the Governor at Raj Bhavan, the TDP delegation led by K Yerran Naidu complained that several irregularities came to light in the allotment of thousands of acres of land to the promoter of project Nimmagadda Prasad. He appealed to the Governor to recommend to the government to scrap the project and order that the land be restored to the farmers from whom it was acquired.
Yerran Naidu alleged that the VANPIC victims were forced to alienate lands under threat and most of the victims did not receive the full compensation. He also appealed to the Governor to direct the government to withdraw the cases booked against those farmers, who launched agitation re-claiming their lands.
The TDP leader said that the Governor responded positively to their appeal and assured that he would direct the government after consulting legal experts over the issue.
