NIMS, ESIC sign MOU for mutual benefit Hyderabad, July 4 (INN): NIMS director Dr Manohar and ESIC Medical College Dean Dr M. Srinivas on Monday signed an MoU in the presence of Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment Bandaru Dattatraya and TS Minister for Medical & Health Dr C. Laxma Reddy and ESIC regional director R.S. Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, Bandaru Dattatraya said that the MoU was signed on the utilization of infrastructure of ESIC Medical College and extending support of the Super Specialty experts from NIMS.
The Union Minister said the NIMS had experts in all the Super Specialty departments. The Super Specialty doctors, after completion of DM/MCH course are required to do one-year mandatory service and this shall be completed in the ESIC Super Specialty Hospital, Sanathnagar, attached to ESIC Medical College, Hyderabad, as per the MoU.
The NIMS will also be benefited with the most modern infrastructure and equipments of ESIC Super Specialty Hospital along with accommodation to the Super Specialty Doctors in the ESIC Medical College Campus. Besides the Super Specialty Doctors would be getting job for one year after the completion of their Super Specialty course from NIMS.
He also said the ESIC Medical College would offer 60% seats to Telangana and 40% seats to ESIC insured workers.
The Union Minister also stated that under Prime Minister's Swasth Suraksha Yojana, the Centre was offering its 60% share of Rs 150 crore to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Adilabad, Rs 150 crore to Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal, Rs 150 crore to State Cancer Centre totaling about Rs. 1,000 crore.
