Vande Bharat Express attacked again Hyderabad, April 6 (INN): The Vande Bharat Express running between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam was targeted in a stone-pelting attack on April 5, resulting in partial damage to one of its coaches. This marks the third such incident in the past three months.
Unidentified individuals threw stones at the moving train, breaking the mirror of the C8 bogie and necessitating repairs. Consequently, the train's scheduled departure from Visakhapatnam at 5:45 am on Thursday was delayed until 9:45 am.
An official from the Waltair Railway Division confirmed the damage, while Divisional Railway Manager Anup Kumar stated that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) is searching for the culprits behind the attack. The broken mirror is estimated to be worth up to Rs. 1 lakh, leading to concerns about the misuse of public funds. Kumar added that strict action would be taken against those responsible, and authorities are currently examining CCTV footage for clues. He also urged the public not to engage in such incidents.
