Three injured during Kanipakam Rathothsavam Tirupati, Sept 18 (INN): Three devotees sustained injuries during a stampede at the Rathothsavam which was taken out as part of the annual Brahmotsavam of Kanipakam Ganapati temple in Chittoor district. According to temple sources, MLA P Ravi on Saturday performed puja in the temple and inaugurated Rathothsavam as part of Brahmotsavam being celebrated from Ganesh Chaturthi. Thousands of devotees turned up to witness event. As devotees jostled to pull the chariot, three of them fell and sustained injuries.
However, immediately the security officials rushed to the spot and shifted the victims to nearby hospital.The condition of the injured is stated to be out of danger. There is a great tradition in Kanipakam Brahmotsavalu. During the 21 days of Bramhotsavam, on each day, devotees from each village surrounding Kanipakam, worship the Lord with their puja items. They bring water from wells and lakes in their village and perform Ganesh Puja on the day.
