Junior doctors seek action against attacker, strike Visakhapatnam, Oct 23 (INN): Demanding protections for themselves, junior Doctors of the Victoria Hospital in Visakhapatnam on Saturday went on a strike in protest against an attack on their colleagues by irate family members of a woman who died while undergoing treatment on Friday.
The junior doctors camped in the hospital premises and demanded that Prasad and his relatives, who had attacked the on-duty doctors and other staff of the hospital on Friday after his wife died, be arrested. It may be recalled that Prasad's wife Padma had after bearing a child. Prasad had alleged negligence on part of the doctors and had resorted to physical abuse. The junior doctors refused to resume duty till action is taken against Prasad, and security is increased in the hospital.
