Girl found hanging, rape not ruled out Guntur, Nov 19 (INN): A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped and then killed by three men, who tried to make her death appear as suicide by hanging her at her residence in Thumalapalli village, Karlapalem mandal in Guntur district on Thursday evening. According to Sub-Inspector G Narayana, the victim, identified as Elaruku Sirisha (15) was the daughter of Kotaiah and a tenth standard student in government school located at Chithaipalem village. According to Mr Narayana, the neighbours saw the girl entering her home on Thursday evening. She was followed inside by three youths, identified as Mallarpu Gopi, Nakkala Subba Rao and Ashok.
The three youths left the house after about half-an-hour. When there was no activity for quite some time from inside the house, the neighbours peered inside and saw the grotesque sight of the girl hanging from a ceiling fan with her dupatta. They immediately informed the girl's parents and the police who arrived on the scene.
The police shifted the victim to hospital for autopsy. Mr Narayana said that suicide is not being ruled out, though the police is treating the case as 'suspicious death.' The post-mortem report is awaited. Neighbours claim that the three youths might have raped and killed the girl and hung the body to make it appear as if the girl committed suicide. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
