Constable killed in SLR fire: Suicide suspected Adilabad, Nov 25 (INN): In a shocking incident, a police constable who sustained injuries when a SLR apparently misfired at Devapur police station, Kasipet mandal in Adilabad district, died early on Thursday morning. According to Sub-Inspector Sudhakar, the on duty policemen heard the sounds of a shot at around 7:45 AM on Thursday morning. The shocked police men rushed to the spot where they witnessed the shocking sight of Sudhakar (35) bleeding profusely, apparently from the misfiring of an SLR. The bullet had pierced his stomach, leaving him grievously injured.
Sudhakar's colleagues rushed him to the nearest hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead. Police suspects that the SLR may have misfired or the constable shot himself. The deceased's wife had deserted him some days earlier, due to his alcohol addiction. Police surmise that if indeed the incident was a suicide, his wife's desertion can be the reason. The autopsy report is awaited and further investigations are on.
