Tractor mishap: toll rises to 11 Guntur, Dec 3 (INN): The death toll in the tractor mishap in Pitlavanipalem mandal in Guntur district on Thursday night has risen to 11. According to Chandolu police Assistant Sub-Inspector Ali Akbar, four more persons died to their injuries early on Friday. Seven persons had died when the tractor plunged into a canal near Komali village late on Thursday. The mishap occurred when the tractor driver lost control on his vehicle and plunged into a roadside canal on Tenali-Nizampatnam Highway. The tractor was carrying a marriage party.
The seven who had died on Thursday evening have been identified as K Elishababy (30), K Satyavathi (40), T Devamannemma (65), K Aruna Kumari (40), K Revathi Devi (670, M Ruthamma and G Nirmala (30). The four who succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment in the Bapatla hospital on Friday have been identified as Mallela Roja (31), M Bhagyamma (54), N Sarojanamma (50) and M Suvarna Kumari (35). All the victims hail from Metlavaripalem.
