IT exports from Telangana touches Rs 57K Cr HYDERABAD: Notwithstanding slowdown blues or political uncertainty in Hyderabad, software exports from Telangana are estimated to be Rs 57,000 crore for 2013-14, registering a growth of more than 14 per cent over the previous fiscal's Rs 49,831 crore.
The figures do not include domestic software sales and electronic hardware industry figures, Harpreet Singh, secretary, ITE&C Deparment, said in a statement here.
According to sources, domestic software sales in Telangana are estimated to be upwards Rs 10,000 crore and coupled with electronic hardware data, the total IT and ITeS sector is worth Rs 70,000 crore in Telangana.
According to data compiled by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and Development Commissioner for SEZs, show that IT and ITeS sector provided direct employment (cumulative) to over 3,23,691 as on March.
Currently, AP is estimated to be exporting about Rs 1,000-2,000 crore. It may be noted that the software exports in united Andhra Pradesh registered a 16 per cent growth in FY12-13 to cross Rs 53,246 crore.
