Railways aim to provide better facilities to the passengers: DRM Ongole, November 16. Pradeep kumar, Divisional Manager Vijayawada, South Central Railway (SCR), has said that railways is giving priority to provide better facilities to passengers. The Vijayawada divisional manager visited ongole railway station on saturday. He observed the facilities and enquired the passengers and staff about the amenities in the railway station. He inspected the passenger retiring rooms, platforms, drinking water facilities provided in the railway station.
He met with district collector and discussed about the encroachment of the railway lands. Ongole MP YV Subba Reddy met the divisional manager and submitted representations requesting them to extend the railway bridge to outside. This is more convenient to the passengers. The DRM said that priority will be given for extension of railway bridge on next level of works in the station.
Ongole MP requested to DRM to stop some express trains in tangutur and singarayakonda and handed over the details of trains and also asked to provide drinking water facility to the two railway stations. There are plenty of water resources in the brook, if railways arranged separate pipelines from brook to stations the water problem will be solved said the MP. Till that water will be supplied to the stations with the tankers, he added. The MP urged to provide 24/7 medical shop in the premises of ongole railway station.
The DRM responded over the representations said that he will refer this issue to superiors to take necessary action to stop trains in above stations and drinking water facilities too. A separate tenders will be called for medical shop in the premises of ongole railway station.
Ongole railway station will be provided with two lifts and one escalator said the DRM. He asked the station manager to prepare a proposal for ATM facility in the station after meeting with bank officials. He said that he will take permission from his superiors to provide Air condition facility to the retiring rooms. He inspected the entire station and made directions to the officers about some changes in the station. Senior DCM Y Pulla Rao, DCS K. Nagendra Prasad, Divisinal officer D. Subba Rao, Ongole NN T. Satyanarayana Rao, Medical officer Ramanarao, CTI P. Narasaiah are also with DRM.
