TANA growing and reorganized in to 16 regions Boston, MA, USA: Telugu Association of North America (TANA) saw tremendous growth in the organization over the last two years as the number of Life Members increased by almost 50 percent, President Mohan Nannapaneni said in a press release on Monday.
With many Telugu families joining us with enthusiasm and in order to better serve the increased Telugu population across North America, TANA Leadership felt that an increase in the number of Regions with some realignments of existing regions will help the organization respond to the needs of the members more promptly and efficiently, he said.
According to the new bylaws, TANA is now organized into the following 16 Regions, he said.
1. Canada. All Provinces
2. New England. Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
3. New York. New York, New Jersey
4. Mid-Atlantic. West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
5. Capital. District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia
6. Appalachian. North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee
7. Southeast. Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi
8. North. Michigan
9. Ohio Valley. Ohio and Kentucky
10. Midwest. Illinois and Indiana
11. South Central. Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma
12. Southwest. Texas and Mexico
13. North Central. Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska
14. West. California
15. Northwest. Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Hawaii
16. Rocky Mountains. Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado and Wyoming
Each of these Regions shall be represented by a Regional Coordinator in the TANA Executive Committee.
Also, the new Bylaws created four new positions, to be elected by the entire membership, in the TANA Executive Committee. They are: Cultural Coordinator, Community Services Coordinator, Women's Services Coordinator and Councilor-at-large.
He also informed that the TANA Nominations and Elections Committee announced the schedule for the organizational elections. He requested all the members to participate actively in the election process and asked them to ensure that we have the best leadership team guiding us into the future.
