BJP leader Dr. Laxman meet and greet in NJ Edison, New Jersey: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is determined to eradicate illiteracy in entire India and that is going to be the biggest driving factor for India's development, Dr. Laxman Kova, MLA from Hyderabad and BJP National Secretary said at a meet and greet program in New Jersey on Friday February 6th. The NRIs meet and greet program with Dr Laxman was held at Royal Albert's Palace in Edison, NJ lead by Community leader and the Executive Director of American Telugu Association (ATA) Kommidi Balvanth Reddy.
Dr. Laxman specially requested the Telangana state government to allocate more funds to eradicate illiteracy to achieve Bangaru Telangana. Any investment in education is for future community development, he said.
The program was started at around 6 pm in festive mood. Around 300 people attended the event including distinguished guests Padmashri Dr Sudhir Parikh, Mr. Upendra Chivukula, Mr. Ankur Vaidya, President of FIA, organizers Mr. Balvanth Kommidi, Mr Albert Jasani, Raj Maan, Sridhar Uttara, Krishna Reddy, Govind Raj and Srinivas Dargula and important community leaders Sudhakar Perkari, ATA president, Suresh Jilla, Joint Treasurer ATA, Prasad Kunisetty, Telugupeople.com, Rajeshwar Gangasani, NATA President Elect, Murali Chintalpani, Past President of TDF-USA, Raghuveer Reddy, Vijay Kundur, Venkatesh Mutyala, Sudhir Bashyam, Raj Seelam, Ravi Dhannapuneni, Ram Kamath, T. Balaguru, Dr Purna Chander, Mahender Musuku, Sridhar Chillara, TV5 , Satyapal Reddy, Bagavan Pingle, Sravan Poreddy, Ravi Puskur, Vilas Reddy Jambula and others.
Balvanth Reddy invited Singer Krishna to start the program. After the entertainment hour, he welcomed the Chief guest Dr. Laxman along with Dr Parikh, Ankur Vaidya, former Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula, Albert Jasani, Krishna Reddy, Govind Raju to the dias. In his welcome speech Balvanth Reddy mentioned two important developments happened in India in the last few months. A political party in India got absolute majority after 30 years and Telangana became the 29th state. He said that the NRIs are eager see better India under Modi's leadership. He shared his family's involvement in 1969 Telangana agitation and congratulated all the community leaders who worked for the formation of Telangana state.
Dr Parikh in his comments narrated his experience with Atalji and Modiji and explained how serious they are about their commitment to the welfare of people. He congratulated the new state of Telangana. Mr. Upendra Chivukula congratulated all the people who worked hard to see Telangana state, hoped new Telangana government will solve the fluoride problem and address other important public issues. He advised the Telangana Govt to take NRI's help in Technology transfer.
FIA president Ankur Vaidya in his remarks congratulated the new state of Telangana and he expressed his optimistic views about India's future under Modi's leadership. In his speech Krishna Anugu mentioned how BJP governments are doing to improving the economy in various states. He specially spoke about MP Chief Minister's record of 20 plus percent growth rate continuously for the last 3 years.
Chief Guest Dr Laxman addressed the gathering with his friendly and down to earth attitude and shared his thoughts on various development activities. He specially congratulated Balvanth Reddy and their team for working towards establishing good governance in the state of Telangana.
He explained how BJP is shaping of future India under the leadership of Mr. Narendra Modi. He spoke about the biggest challenges India is facing especially terrorism and the corruption. He promised that the BJP government is committed to wipe out corruption in India. He said that Modi is working hard to rebuild India from the grass root levels with programs like Swatchh Bhaarat. He mentioned about the progress Modi made in diplomatic relations with all major countries of the World. He explained how the new government is serious about black money. He spoke about the NITI AYOG and mentioned that Modi requested special courts to weed out corruption and keep inflation under control.
Dr. Laxman mentioned about the special portfolio Modi created for skill development. To reduce digital divide Mr. Modi introduced digital India program. Modi also introduced smart cities program, initiated National judiciary program, Agri productivity improvement program, he said. He said that the Govt is encouraging all the private companies to invest 2 percent of their revenues in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.
The program ended with the vote of thanks by Govind Raju Thota.
