GHMC action plan to clear garbage from Markets Hyderabad, March 17 (INN): GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer has informed that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was preparing an action plan to clear garbage in a systematic manner from the 13 main agricultural markets in its limits.
The GHMC chief, along with Solid Waste Management experts Dr. Majumdar and Sanjay Singh, Additional Commissioner (H&S) N Ravi Kiran and Marketing Committee members inspected the Gudimalkapur fruit market and vegetable market at Mehdipatnam on Tuesday. Somesh Kumar said that the lifting of garbage should be be streamlined from all the fruit and vegetable markets situated at Gaddiannaram, L.B. Nagar, Madannapet, Miralam Mandi, Malakpet, Begum Bazar, Osmangunj, Kishan Gunj, Moosapet etc.,
The Commissioner further directed the Town Planning and Health officials to personally monitor the lifting of the garbage waste to maintain proper hygiene in all the fruit and vegetable markets in Hyderabad. He also instructed the marketing officials to form a committee to take up the issues for lifting of garbage in a phased manner. The traders were also asked provide their own dust bins in front of their shops and to see that the garbage waste has to be dumped in the dust bin rather throwing it on the road.
Somesh Kumar also directed the officials to provide rest rooms, drinking water, toilets etc., to the farmers who are coming from different parts of the state for doing their business.
