Family disputes come to the fore during Survey HYDERABAD: The Tuesday's survey not just gave the State government an opportunity to know the real beneficiaries of its welfare schemes, but also brought the latent tensions in families to the fore. Some weird and strange incidents were witnessed during the one-day intensive household survey.
In Kukatpally, a woman who was staying away from his husband for past three years appeared before the latter's house. She requested her husband and in-laws to make her part of the family to participate in the survey.
Denying entry into house, her husband alleged that she had not even bothered to show him their son at least once, and questioned as what had promoted her to come home if not for their properties.
When her in-laws barred her way into house, the woman with her son in tow sat outside the house and demanded that she be allowed to be part of the family. The tension only dissipated when locals who gathered there sent her way.
Meanwhile, her husband said she had filed frivolous cases against him and his family members, including 'attempt to murder' charge. He also said he had already filed a petition in the court for divorce.
In a separate incident in Karimnagar, a person tried to commit suicide when he could not get enlisted in the survey.
The incident took place outside the RDO office in Karimnagar. The person tried to burn himself using kerosene. Soon, onlookers came to the rescue and prevented him from taking the extreme step.
