Naidu to announce capital location on Sept 4 Hyderabad, Sept 2 (INN): The location for new capital of Andhra Pradesh will be announced on September 4. The announcement of location was expected to be made on Tuesday.
However, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu deferred the announcement to September 4 in view of death anniversary of former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
According to sources, the Chief Minister is not likely accept the recommendations of the Shivaramakrishnan Committee and instead, announce a location of his choice. The new capital is likely to be named as Tarakarama Nagar, after former Chief Minister and TDP founder late NT Rama Rao.
