Big B gets ANR national award On the auspicious occasion of ANR's birth anniversary, the Akkineni family has disclosed a good news. The prestigious ANR National Award for the year 2014 has been announced and according to reports Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been chosen for this esteemed award.
The ANR National Award was instituted by the Akkineni International foundation in the honor of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The award was given annually to recognize people for their lifetime achievements and contributions to the Indian film industry. ANR National Award was first awarded to veteran Bollywood actor Dev Anand in 2006.
Previously several eminent film personalities like Sridevi (2013), Syam Benegal (2012), Hema Malini (2011), Dr. K. Balachander (2010), Lata Mangeskar, Anjali Devi, Shabana Azmi and Dev Anand were awarded with the esteemed ANR Award.
Its known news that Amitabh played a small cameo in Akkineni multi-starrer Manam. Amitabh is said to be very impressed and moved by the down-to-earth and humble attitude of Akkineni family and has accepted the small role without any second thought! He also sent a congratulatory note for the team of Manam and thanked them for making him a part of the success.
