Officials awe-struck at KCR's knowledge Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has shown his class at a review meeting recently he had with higher officials and senior engineers while framing road map for his pet project Water Grid for Telangana State which is also known as 'In house tap to every house' programme.
In a meeting that went up to six hours, three in the morning session and another three hours in afternoon, KCR has simple floored the officials, especially those from the Irrigation and Engineering departments. The officials present on the occasion were baffled and dumbstruck with the way KCR dealt with the subject and his in-depth knowledge on the subject.
Several senior engineers from the irrigation and water supply confessed that they did not know that the Chief Minister had such a grip on the subject' 'We are simply thrilled the way the Chief Minister started talking on the project and surprised at his knowledge which he has on his fingertips. It is not as though he is briefed. He spoke with passion and studied the matter thoroughly.'
Recalling the review meeting, another senior engineer of the government said,' In any review meeting be it with the CM or the Minister, it is the officials who try to brief the dignitary. Often the officials will try to make the matter simple and present it in a layman's words. But, the Monday review meeting, the CM held was totally different. Even before an official replied, KCR himself spoke on the issue threadbare.'
'I have worked under several governments and a few chief ministers. But I have not seen any chief minister speaking with such an authority on the subject. It was like an experienced engineer making a presentation.
More surprisingly, the kind of engineering techno jargon and terms he used, no other person other than an engineer could do. He knew what are contours, embankments, reservoir levels, alignments and the gravitation pull.
More surprising than this is the way he analysed the Maps presented by the State Remote Sensing Agency. He read the maps presented by the Agency on screen and instead of them, he analysed the maps to the point like a professional,' said another official.
The officials were also stunned by the details put forth by KCR on the programme. 'He explained to the meeting what are the districts that come under Krishna River Basin and Godavari Basin. He knew the entire Telangana State geography like back of his palm.
He has knowledge of each and every Mandal and district, each hillock, reservoir, rivulet, stream and other water resources. For instance, while talking about Palair reservoir in Khammam district, to several officials' surprise the Chief Minister explained that parts of Warangal district can be supplied drinking water from this reservoir.
Similarly, he told the officials from Remote Sensing Department on how their services would be utilized to the proposed water grid project. The icing on the cake is, KCR, after six hours of the review, in the end, he recapitulated everything that took place as discussion and summed it up in a precise manner.
'It is like an Asthaavadhani or Satavadhani, summing up the entire exercise of avadhanam at the end recapitulating everything. KCR had that Dharana,' another official remarked.
