Visakha Utsav's final day pulls huge crowds VISAKHAPATNAM: Tension prevailed at RK Beach, the main venue for Visakha Utsav on the final day as surging waves kept crashing on stalls.
This apart, the organisers were visibly happy as the Ustav proved a crowd puller on the final day. The surging waves eroded a portion of the beach near INS Kurusura, the submarine museum. On information, minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao rushed to the spot and inspected the stalls where waves entered.
The three-day cultural fiesta concluded in a positive note with a scintillating dance performance by actress Shobana and a grand musical performance by popular cine music director SS Thaman.
The flower show at VUDA Park also witnessed sizable crowd. In view of the public holiday on Monday, the organising committee has announced that the flower show will continue for one more day.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who couldn't make it to the valedictory ceremony sent a message to Vizagites, which was read out by collector N Yuvaraj at the main venue.
The chief minister assured to develop Visakhapatnam as the best smart city in the country and to turn the Port City as the Financial capital, IT centre, educational hub, tourism capital and industrial capital of Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, fireworks arranged in the sea atop fishing boats offered a visual treat to visitors.
Actor-turned MLA N Balakrishna, ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu were present at the concluding ceremony.
