Greater status to Warangal city soon HYDERABAD: Warangal will be the second city in Telangana state to get the 'Greater' status. The Warangal Municipal Corporation will be called Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation.
The decision to upgrade the Warangal Municipal Corporation into Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation was taken by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at a meeting held with principal secretary (municipal administration and urban development) MG Gopal here.
The chief minister felt that the historic city was one of the fast developing regions in Telangana. 'Our intention is to develop Warangal in the education and industrial sectors on a par with Hyderabad,' Rao said.
