ATA mourns the death of Ramanaidu New Jersey, USA: American Telugu Association (ATA) mourns the death of Telugu movie industry legend Sri Daggubati Ramanaidu, ATA President Sudhakar Perkari said in a press release.
Ramanaidu passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Wednesday after battling cancer for several months. Recipient of Dada Saheb Phalke Award for lifetime achievement in 2009 and also Padma Bhushan in 2012 in recognition of his contribution to Indian cinema, Sri Ramanaidu also holds the record for producing highest number of films in the world.
He produced over 150 films in most of the Indian languages with Telugu topping the list. In 2004, at ATA Conference in Chicago he was honored with ATA Lifetime Achievement Award.
Considered as an icon of film industry, he introduced several film personalities through his Suresh Productions. His death marks the end of another glorious chapter in Telugu cinema. ATA extends our deepest condolences to his family, friends & all his beloved fans and pray that his soul rest in peace, said ATA in the press release.
