Singarakonda Tirunallu fete concludes Addanki, March 5. Singarakonda, the abode of Prasannanjaneya Swamy and Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy, witnessed religious activity as the the 60th annual 'Tirunallu' festival concluded on the auspicious Phalguna Shudda Pournima day on Thursday.
State Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao was among the over one lakh devotees who thronged the twin temples near Addanki in Prakasam district.
Vedic priests, led by V. Harishankar Avadhani, tastefully decorated the idol of Lord Vayuputra with tulsi and betal leaves. Lakshminarasimha Swamy tastefully decorated with colorful flowers and basil leaves.
'A heavy rush of devotees is being witnessed right from dawn and is expected to continue till the wee hours, said Temple Executive Officer and Endowments Assistant Commissioner R. Ramanammma.
The special decoration to the Lord would be retained till Thursday morning for the benefit of devotees waiting in queues for darshan, she added.
The twin-temples were illuminated with nine electric prabhas by the local leaders of the YSR Congress and TDP. State government departments, including revenue and police, put up stalls to create awareness among people on various welfare schemes. Community feasts were organised on the occasion.
