Padma Rao inaugurates indoor stadium at Lalapet Hyderabad, Nov 26 (INN): Excise Minister T. Padma Rao on Thursday inaugurated one indoor stadium in Secunderabad Assembly Constituency at Lalapet. The stadium has been constructed at a cost of around Rs. 3.80 crores.
Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy also attended the function as Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion Padma Rao announced that the stadium would be named after Prof. Jayashanker. Further, he said a statue of Prof. Jayashankar would also be installed in the stadium soon. He said that the stadium would be useful to all the youth and other citizens of the constituency.
The Minister said that the GHMC was planning to develop sports facilities in entire limits of Greater Hyderabad.
Nayini Narsimha Reddy said that the GHMC was planning to construct around 200 community halls. He said that the Telangana Government was taking up many innovative schemes to provide employment to thousands of youth.
GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Chief Engineers Suresh Kumar and Imtiyaz Ahmed and OSD Sports R. Prem Raj and senior officials of various wings have participated in the inauguration function.
