Congress demands special Assembly session Hyderabad, July 1 (INN): Congress senior leader and TPCC Kisan Cell chairman M. Kodandada Reddy on Friday demanded that the Telangana Government convene a special session of Legislative Assembly to discuss the issue of farmers and irrigation projects.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Kodanda Reddy said that the TRS Government has completely failed to do anything for farmers' welfare. He said that the government was yet to clear the third installment of crop loan waiver scheme. He said that the government did not clear the entire dues despite repeated demands by farmers and opposition parties.
Kodanda Reddy also demanded White Paper on utilisation of Central Funds for Telangana State. He said both State and Central Governments need to furnish details of Rs. 90,000 crore which the former has claimed were sanctioned for Telangana State. He said it appeared that both TRS and BJP Governments were misleading the people with false claims.
Meanwhile, addressing a separate press conference, TPCC Vice-President Dr. Mallu Ravi said that some corporate hospitals in the city were not admitting Arogyasri patients. He said that the State Government was selectively releasing funds to only a few hospitals. He said immediate steps should be taken to ensure that Arogyasri patients get treatment in all corporate hospitals.
