Ravindranath surprises Telugu NRIs TANA began its 40th Anniversary celebrations on a grand note at Hindu Temple auditorium in Flushing, New York. On the inaugural day all the attendees were left in surprise when Guthikonda Ravindranath Chowdary displayed a hand sewn banner that was used in the first North American Telugu Conference on May 28, 1977. The well preserved banner stood as an example for the love and care of Ravindranath towards TANA. V Chowdary Jampala(right), President, TANA and Jay Talluri(left) Trustee, TANA Foundation were seen holding the banner in the picture.
Audience had a goose bumps moment on seeing the condition of the banner and they lauded the efforts of Ravindranath in preserving it for 39 years. Another noteworthy issue is that the first North American Telugu Conference was also conducted at the same venue.
