CPM opposes Kavali atomic project Hyderabad, July 23 (INN): The CPM has announced that it would oppose the atomic power projects that are expected to come up at Kavali near Nellore and Kovvada in North Coastal Andhra.
Announcing this to the media persons, party general secretary Madhu said that the TDP government was taking up anti-people policies like the atomic power projects in a unilateral way with scant regard for the people's health and welfare. The government was doing so by bowing to the wishes of the capitalists force of the west and had agreed for the Kavali atomic power project.
Madhu stated that the local people were opposed to the project. He said that the party would conduct a series of protest to oppose the project and warned that the government that it would face the wrath of the people if it went ahead with the anti-people policies.
