KTR suspends officials in building collapse incident Hyderabad, Dec 9 (INN): Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Friday ordered a probe into the incident of building collapse in Nanakramguda which claimed four lives.
The GHMC has confirmed that four people have died and two others were injured in the building collapse incident in Nanakramguda on Thursday night. KTR, who personally supervised the rescue operations, have announced an ex-gratia of Rs.10 lakhs each for loss of life of each adult. Survivors will be provided best medical care at the government expenses. Injured persons will get Rs. 1 lakh in addition to the treatment cost.
The Minister ordered for keeping the Deputy Commissioner and Assistant City Planner under suspension, pending enquiry into the cause of the accident. The JNTU, Hyderabad has been entrusted with the responsibility to find out the cause of the accident. A preliminary report in this regard is expected tonight.
The State Government have arranged for dispatch of dead bodies and their family members to their native places in Andhra Pradesh through TSRTC.
The State Government also requested the Secretary to Govt., MA&UD Dept. to examine the issues involved and suggest systemic improvements to avoid such incidents in future.
