Sheep rearing will be developed as industry: KCR Hyderabad, Jan 15 (INN): Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao said that the State Government was keen on developing sheep rearing as a big industry in the State.
The Chief Minister on Sunday held a review meeting on the Fisheries and Sheep Rearing wings of Animal Husbandry department. He said both development of fisheries and sheep rearing will play a major role in revamping the rural economy in the State. He wanted the Telangana State to become one of the major exporters of the Sheep meat to other states and countries. In this context, the Chief Minister announced that a Cabinet Sub-Committee under the Chairmanship of Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav is constituted to prepare a comprehensive plan of action on the development of fisheries and Sheep rearing. People are going to get a larger benefit thanks to the irrigation projects, schemes of the state government and hence now the focus should be on having a detailed action plan to develop and help people who rely on their hereditary trades.
'My government's aim is to make all sections of the people to be happy,' the CM said. He has instructed officials concerned to take all possible measures through the department to help Sheep farming. Through the Sheep farming all the Yadavs should become better financially and the profession should be made profitable. 'People who made fun of us and predicted that Telangana people cannot govern are now astonished and dismayed at our governance and the way we are getting an appreciation world-wide. The same should be the outcome in Sheep rearing too. Since, there will be some problems when the numbers of sheep increase multifold, the officials concerned should find solutions to such issues, the CM said.
The Chief Minister also advised that the Sheep can be bought from the neighbouring Maharashtra, Karnataka and AP States. In future, Telangana State should become the centre for Sheep Farming and export and become a role model to other States. In this context, the Chief Minister held a detailed discussion on the Sheep rearing and other issues.
