Kiran plans dharna at Jantar Mantar Hyderabad: Unhappy over the cold shouldering of the day's developments by the Congress high command, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has decided to lead a team consisting of Seemandhra Ministers to New Delhi to stage a silent protest at Jantar Mantar opposing bifurcation of the State.
This decision was taken here on Thursday evening after a marathon meeting he had with Seemandhra Ministers, MLAs, MPs and other leaders. Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao said they would now intensify the agitation in support of Samaikyandhra and would leave no stone unturned to see that the Bill did not go to Lok Sabha.
He said a detailed action plan would be announced in next two days time and all the political parties fighting against the State division would be involved in the next phase of the movement.
He said that all the ministers, MPs and MLAs of Seemandhra thanked the Chief Minister for the bold steps taken by Reddy against the Telangana Bill, he said.
Taking strong exception to Digvijay Singh's statement that the rejection of the T Bill in Assembly would not affect the formation of Telangana, he said the statement had no relevance.
