T Bill in Parliament before Feb 10: DS

HYDERABAD: Allaying the fears among the Telangana votaries over the possibility of introduction of the T-Bill in Parliament being delayed in the wake of the rejection of the Bill by AP Assembly, former PCC chief and senior Telangana Congress leader D Srinivas, made it clear that the Bill would be tabled in the Parliament before February 10 and would be adopted by the House by Feb 15.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Srinivas said that the resolution will have no effect on the bifurcation process and Telangana statehood will be a reality by February 15. 'As per my information the T-Bill will be introduced in the Parliament before February 10 and will be passed by February 15,' he claimed.

There is no need to get agitated on the rejection of the T-Bill in the assembly as it will not effect the bifurcation process and the T-state will be created without any hurdle, he said.

Replying to a question, he said that President Pranab Mukherjee has fairly good knowledge of Parliamentary procedures and Constitution and he will follow the Constitution while granting assent to the Bill.

'I don't think that the President will take a decision in pressure. He is a very experienced person and would take correct decision on state bifurcation,' he remarked.

Brushing aside the claims of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Seemandhra leaders that the resolution passed through voice vote rejecting the AP Reorganisation Bill, 2013 will be part of the debate on the Bill to be sent to the President, Srinivas said that Speaker Nadendla Manohar has clearly told that the resolution notice given by chief minister on rejecting the T-Bill was separate and was not part of the discussion on the Bill but still chief minister and Seemandhra leaders were claiming that the resolution would be sent along with the debate records which is very unfortunate.

'Even after Speaker's clarification on the issue the chief minister was unnecessarily trying to mislead the people for political mileage. The Bill was sent to the State assembly for seeking opinion and not for voting so where is the question of the Bill being defeated arises?

At the most the resolution will be made part of Assembly records and not part of debate records. Moreover, the resolution was passed after Speaker announced that the debate on the Bill was completed. So whether it is valid or not we have to check out,' he remarked.

Coming down heavily on chief minister the senior Congress leader said that if the Bill was faulty then why did the chief minister asked for extension and wasted the House's time, he asked.

On Rajya Sabha poll he said that action will be taken against the members who violate the party's whip. 'Only those who are planning to jump to other parties may vote against the official candidates,' he said.
