City celebrates but Satya's family elusive HYDERABAD: Even as the country and the city have erupted in joy on hearing the news of the appointment of city-born Satya Nadella (46) as the new CEO of Microsoft Corporation on Tuesday evening, the residence of his father, retired bureaucrat BN Yugandhar, however, wore a deserted and gloomy look.
The family was not only unwilling to share their happiness and pride with the media but also disappointed those who gathered at the house in Sagar Society on Road No.2 in Banjara Hills to congratulate them.
Even the neighbourhood seemed completely unaware that Satya has been working with one of the world's biggest corporations for the last 22 years. Same was the scene at Road No. 14 in Banjara Hills, where Satya's father-in-law, another retired IAS officer KR Venugopal, resides.
He too refrained from speaking with media. Despite repeated attempts by journalists, he refused to speak requesting the media to respect the family's privacy.
