SA Union Ministers want nine changes in T-bill HYDERABAD: Union ministers from Seemandhra, such as K Chiranjeevi and JD Seelam, who have been demanding that Hyderabad be made a Union Territory while bifurcating the state, have exuded confidence that the Centre would divide Andhra Pradesh in such way that all Telugus would get 'justice'.
Though Chiranjeevi and Seelam did not divulge the amendments to the AP Reorganisation Bill being considered by the Group of Ministers (GoM) to satisfy the people and politicos of Seemandhra, they said they were hopeful that the final bill would address the concerns of the Seemandhra.
Though the Union Home Minister Suhilkumar Shinde had termed the Tuesday's meeting of the GoM as the final one, the panel once again met in Delhi on Wednesday night. Except D Purandeswari and Panabaka Lakshmi, all other seven Union ministers from Seemandhra attended the specially convened meeting.
The Seemandhra ministers suggested nine amendments to the bill, which include revenue sharing and transferr of certain areas in Bhadrachalam division to the residuary state of AP.
Union minister V Kishore Chandra Deo reiterated his demand for making Visakhapatnam as the capital of AP.
After the two-hour-long meeting, Jairam Ramesh said the GoM would meet again on Thursday to take final call on the amendments and give final shape to the bill.
The Union Cabinet is also scheduled to meet on Thursday evening. Asked if the T bill would come before the Cabinet, Jairam Ramesh said he was not sure of it. 'We are putting our efforts to place the bill before Cabinet.'
