Sulking Motkupalli skips TDLP meeting HYDERABAD: Though the victory of six candidates seems certain with Congress rebel candidate Adala Prabhakar Reddy retiring from contest in the Rajya Sabha elections scheduled for Friday, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu does not want to take chances and wants to see that his party's two candidates are elected without any problem.
Moreover, this time it will not be secret voting leaving MLAs confused. To see that no one bungles up the vote, the TDP chief conducted mock voting to show them the correct way of casting their vote. Naidu, who chaired the TDLP meeting at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Thursday, directed his MLAs to cast their vote properly and without mistake.
He asked all the 76 legislators to be present in full strength in the Assembly for voting. However, senior leader Motkupalli Narsimhulu, who was denied RS ticket, has been keeping away from the party activities and is unlikely to take part in Friday's polling. In that case, the party's effective strength will come down to 75. Narsimhulu did not attend the TDLP meeting.
The meeting also focused on organisational polls and appointments of district and constituency in-charges for strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
